Act Fast For Decision Games’ Imperium Romanum
Decision Games’ Imperium Romanum will be shipping in mid-November according to Doc from Decision Games as posted over on ConSimWorld’s forums on Friday, October 26. Romanum in an updated version of the Al Nofi West End Games classic Imperium Romanum II released back in 1985. There are a heap of games from the 80’s and early 90’s getting reprints over the course of the next year, but only a few of these qualify as true monsters. ANIR is one of those titles.
Romanum will retail for $140.00 USD, but the pledge price is just $99.00 USD right now over in the Decision Games shop. That price won’t last long though, so act fast if you’re interested!
As Doc wrote on the ConSimWorld forums on October 26, 2018:
ANIR will be shipping in just a couple of weeks so down to the details of getting everything collated into the boxes correctly and shipped out.
Those of you who follow my Twitter account know that I find a lot of what Decision Games does as questionable, but I’m truly impressed with the information Doc shared about their new approach to playtesting and releasing solid products. I can attest that there is a big difference between my copy of D-Day at Iwo Jima from this fall and my first edition copy of D-Day at Omaha Beach in terms of component quality and I’m not just talking about maps. Doc said, “In the case of ANIR, we completed a four month series of beta test plays of the game in September that involved 15+ players playing in groups of at least four players to review every scenario for set-up accuracy and basic play through. No counter or set-up errata and one minor map error (but correct on the provincial chart and noted in the rules). I expect most everyone is going to enjoy this game and feel it is a major improvement in a “classic” game.”
So, if you’re on the fence about this one, now may be the time to head over and put in that pledge to get a cool $40 USD off the projected MSRP.
